Cupcakes. I want to bake lots of them and buy things from LayerCakeShop. And I just ate one for lunch with a big glass of milk. It was delicious and I dont feel guilty. Nope. Not one little bit.

Lavender sachets. I've make bunches this weekend. Finally finding something to do with all those yoyos I was making. I like the patterns, especially the Amy Butler ones I got at Boersma's down in McMinnville about a year ago.

 

These will probably make it on my etsy shop because one girl can only use so many sachets.  Then I can buy stuff from the LayerCakeShop and my life will be complete.

I don't think I've ever gotten so many email about a post before ~ it's great!

All the hub~bub was about these tickets...

So I went ahead and listed them on my etsy shop sold in 12s.

But since I don't want to be all greedy and hoard the tickets all to myself... or do I?

reduce~reuse~recycle at it's best

A nice gal named Juli bought some little fishy beads from my etsy shop awhile back. Sometimes I write little notes to my customers asking them to let me know what wonderful creation they made with the supplies I offer. Since allot of them are "found" supplies I'm curious what they could be used for. Julie emailed me back with pictures no less of the cutest felted bag she made for her daughter. With her permission I'm sharing them with you!

   

The story of the fishy beads....We marked down a couple frames that were damaged in my shop (the one where I actually work). I decided that I loved the beads that were sew in all over the frame. I spent an evening cutting each bead off 3 frames which left me with several hundred beads. Too many than I needed so I decided to share and listed the rest on etsy. I'm kinda proud that the fishy beads found some nice use rather than going in the trash can and Julie added them to her wonderful creation which her daughter loves!

Thats me over at etsy. Some fun was had by me tonight! Got all my creations from earlier this week loaded up including some new collections. And convo'd with a gal from Texas who is opening a stationary shop. Shopgirl loves the shoptalk!

Lloyd is telling me to chill and I will listen to my inner-Lloyd because I have been shopping this week a little too much.

I know Fridays are supposed to be about Lloyd here on Shop Girl but it is only one of my many obsessions.

Another one would be shopping, hence the blog name. I'm a retail buyer for god sakes so you would think I would get it out of my system at work. Oh NO! I just don't shop to shop. I hunt for things I cant live without. Don't like to buy stuff thats too pedestrian if you know what I mean. Not that I don't love Target and go there often but I desperately stay away from the mall. Online shopping & boutiques are for me!

Also received my new strappy slides and my Cocoa Daisey kit. Didn't even take pictures of the Mandarin Pixie stamps because I ripped them open too fast. A trip to Peddlers Pack, Smith Berry Barn, plus a couple other boring shopping errands not worth mentioning and I'M DONE. Wallet closed.

Then when the Fed Ex guy dropped this off yesterday I thought that the heavens parted and heard angels singing.

It not too fancy like some people I know but thats good because I don't read the manuals so probably couldn't figure it out anyway. It is my belated Mothers Day / upcoming Birthday gift all in one. It f-ing rocks and I love it!

But I'm done now. Vacation OVER. Back to reality.

PS - Interesting how I can tie any kind of life event to a Lloyd quote, huh?

I love getting things in the mail! And believe it or not I actually like going to the Post Office. It makes me feel nostalgic especially when it's an old post office and they have cool architecture going on. 

Today I felt so international!

I mailed to Emilia in Taipei a box full of goodies as her prize for winning my blogaversary drawing!

And I mailed 3 of my covered journals that sold from my etsy shop over the weekend to Spain, Australia and Belgium today!

I also mailed out goodie bags to Jenna and Elizabeth since they have completed their portion of our circle journal.

And I almost used up all my cool mailing labels which means I get to go order more tonight!

Wow ~ what fun!

I spent allot of time cleaning out my craft room this last weekend so when I'm on vacation next week I can just get in there and create. I told my husband that last night and when I said it I threw my arms open big and wide at the word create. Does that give you a good visual of how excited I'm to have some free time next week to spend in my little room!? Of course I will be spending most of my time with my little guy. He turns 7 on Friday and I'm taking his first week of summer vacation off so we can go do fun stuff around town and in our back yard....fun stuff & good times ahead!

keeping busy making stuff

I had my first sale of a handmade item on etsy last night! Well, not entirely handmade... but I covered some journals with cardstock and fabric tape. This one was sold to Angela and will be living with her in LA now. From my home to hers. Kinda cool! And I'm a little proud someone actaully bought something I decorated! How fun!

I have a few other journals up and put together a new collection from my stash which I call "Pretty Little Goodie Box" just in time for Mother's Day!

Like I said before I've been spending allot of time "organizing" (code for playing) with my stuff and I put it together last night. Also made some tags with my new Martha stamps:

 

Tonight though I will actually get to work on a Circle Journal! We are just a little bit behind...It is Shelia's Happiness Journal and I have been looking forward to this one.

I'm off to create, wish me luck, it's been awhile!

I guess I could have worded that better...   

Anyway! I have some shiny pretties up in my etsy shop!

My little room is crammed and I'm kinda burned out at night when I get home lately so I have been "organizing" my stuff which is code for just playing around with all the supplies I have while watching Pride & Prejudice for the 38th time. It was so relaxing just sitting in my craft room playing with my stuff and sorting out goodies. Does anyone else do that??

I had soooo much fun putting some Cigar Box Collections together! So far only 1 up but I have 2 more to add later since I'm burned out now tonight. I have to give Artsy Mama credit because I got the idea from her when she did these a couple months ago. 

I've also been making some goodie bags for my Circle Journal group because we are very close to finishing and want to send them out when they mail out the last  journal. So I've been a goodie bag/cigar box collection/fool the last couple of nights.

my new addiction...

...like I need another one but I cant help myself.

Not only did Artsy Mama turn me onto etsy she linked me to the site above to make library cards. I suggest you go there pronto and check it out. After of course you visit me at etsy!

I spent hours there the other night on my first visit. And could I resist selling stuff? Hardly! And every night since I have been on etsy, eye candy central of the universe.

I made up some goodies to sell. Nothing handmade yet, just some supplies I got last fall at the gift show. My idea back then was to make a website and sell stuff off of it.     Simple.    You know, the side job that would turn big so I could quit the day job and be able to pick my son up after school every day. Well, once I stumbled out of that dreamland the "merchandise" has been collecting dust when I'm not pilfering from it.

Of course once I got onto etsy I was there about 5 minutes when I signed up to sell stuff and my first listings are not well thought out and my name is stupid.

When signing up for names I always get frustrated and just pick something, anything to get through the process. That's how I became forever known now as annabanana7000 on yahoo. Of course you cant change it once you have it all set up, so now I'm stuck. NEXT time I will be clever!!
